Is Ready Built the same as Turnkey homes?

Ready built homes are similar to ‘turnkey’ homes but with one significant difference. 

In both situations, you’ll be moving into a brand new house. With a ready built home (also known as a ‘completed home’), the house is already built, or close to completion. 

A turnkey home means you are buying off-the-plan. So, while the house’s floor plan and design will be planned for you, construction will only begin once you’ve signed a contract. Read more about turnkey vs ready built here.

How does Ready Built work?

Rawson Homes have hand-picked ideal land in a variety of residential locations across the Hunter, South Coast, Illawarra, Central West and ACT regions. Your dream home will be part of a new vibrant community waiting for you to join.

Homes are then chosen to suit each block’s land size and aspect. You’ll be able to choose from single and double storey homes that capture the best of the location and sun.

A house isn’t a home without a driveway, fences, landscaping and even a letterbox! So Rawson Ready Built Houses include all these essentials as well as environmental features like solar and Low E glazing.

Our floorplans offer flexible spaces and options for seamless inside-outside living. Interior designs are modern and stylish with premium fixtures and fittings. We’ll create the perfect canvas for you to add your individual touches after moving in.

Paperwork is minimised thanks to your entire home being covered by the one contract. There’s no need for endless progress payments as you’ll simply pay 10% upfront and then the rest on completion. You’ll feel in control and confident.

 

Step-by-step ready built process

Step 1: Select your home

Choose the home that's right for you, in a location or community that you desire. We have a range of single storey and double storey homes being built in multiple locations across NSW such as Austral, Kembla Grange, Lochinvar, South Jerrabomberra, Orange, Dubbo and Mudgee.

Step 2: Pay a 10% deposit

When you've chosen your home, we'll help you work through all the necessary paperwork, while preparing our own and providing you with your single contract. Once signed, you pay the agreed 10% deposit and the rest on completion.


Step 3: Handover

Once construction is complete (less than 100 days), we will organise a handover at your new home, where we conduct a walk-through inspection with you and then handover the keys. After three months, our Warranty Manager will also come back to make sure everything is as it should be.

What is a ready built house?

A ready built home is one where the hard work of choosing land, a floorplan and design has been done for you. You get the benefit of a brand new home without the decision-fatigue and stress that can come from building from scratch.

What is the difference between turn key and ready built?

‘Turnkey’ and ‘ready built’ both mean that your home is designed and pre-planned by experts. The difference is in the timing. Turnkey homes start to be built once you’ve signed a contract. Ready built homes are either already constructed (or are well underway) even before a buyer has chosen it as their home.

Does ready built include landscaping?

The term ‘ready built’ can mean different things to different builders. So, it’s worth checking with builders about whether landscaping is included within their definition of ‘ready built’. At Rawson Homes, we know that a house isn’t really a home if the yard is simply dirt, so we include a landscaping package with our ready built homes including driveway, fencing and even a letterbox!

Does ready built include fencing?

Checking whether fencing is included in a ready built home contract is an important step before you commence. Fencing is an important part of your new home, both for the look-and-feel of the block as well as privacy and security. So, at Rawson Homes, we include fencing in our ready built homes as part of our landscaping package.
